Framlingham and the Surrounding Area

We are well situated for the town of Framlingham, which is within a short drive, or, should you enjoy walking, a 15-20 minute walk across the fields arriving beneath the Castle walls and beside the Mere.

Birdwatchers will enjoy the variety of wild life around the Mere and the RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve is within easy reach.

Framlingham is an attractive small market town with a good range of shops, pubs, an historic castle and church. Framlingham hosts an arts week in June and English heritage run a series of weekend events at the Castle. Framlingham has its own Gala weekend and Mid Summer celebrations. Take a look at the Framlingham website for more details.

Open all year round, great for the summer, and ideal for short breaks, the heated cottage is also suitable for winter holidays and those visiting Suffolk and the Framlingham area for family or business reasons. Easily accessed from the A12 (15 minutes by car), it is a perfect base from which to discover East Anglia and for those wanting a quiet rural retreat.

The diverse Suffolk coastline, from Felixstowe to Southwold via Aldeburgh, Dunwich and Walberswick, and Ipswich, Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge are all possibilities for an enjoyable day out.
